My toddler doesn't come when I call him, and it drives me insane!?

My girl is 17 mos and I'm 5wks w/#2... That's totally normal and yes it's a bit much to expect him to come everytime you call him. He is at a place developmentally where they are erting their independence and get so focused on play that they do not want to leave. They've learned they have free will and can choose to do something else if they like. They also don't understand social nuances- like when someone calls your name you respond or walk over to them. Just relax- it drives me nuts too but a lot of your frustration is hormones (I'm right there with ya!)- he's not trying to piss you off. And really, is it that important that his coat be removed right away? He's not going to overheat and p out in the house...Just try to take a deep breath and relax. Remember- pick your battles!
