What do religious people think about ity in animals?

It's been some years, but I did a report on animals being ual or having tendencies. It specifically was about giraffe's that had been studied. Anyways, I hear many don't believe animals have souls and what not, and i was curious how religious people would explain such behavior on the animals part. It would seem silly to say they sat down and decided to be gay, but then if you take the stance that it is something genetic or programmed in, then that would be going against what many religious people believe, ie that people cannot possibly be born gay. Obviously this question is more geared towards those religious people who believe that being gay is only a choice.
