Will they reject me being prescribed medication?

First treatment for back pain is not surgery. It is usually resting your back and alternating with heat (heating pad or get a towel wet and put in microwave for a minutes) and cold (ice pack) therapy. They may do an x-ray if the physician can not pinpoint that it is muscle related. Depends on the physician, but you can take a narcotic while taking the benzodiazapine xanax; unless you have sleep apnea or any other type of respiratory problem it isn't the best combination. They may have you take naprosyn (over the counter) or 800mg ibuprofen for a week or so instead of a narcotic pain reliever.
